My work has always been undated. Changes in signature reflect stages in development. My working method in landscape has always been through drawings and sketches to a singular painting. Many painters commercialise their ideas through endless variation of a few basic ideas and some plagiarise. By contrast paintings sush as Autumn Mist, Autumn Light, Jack, or After The Storm are unique: each represents about three months fulltime drawing, sketching, watercolour studies and painting - often spread over some years. I don't expect to be able to paint any more of their ilk.
